Destination Nowhere Week 1 Sales

Destination Nowhere has ranked #7 on the weekly charts for its first week, with sales of about 26,624 copies. This is about half of what FREE sold in its first week, and still less than what it sold in its second week. It looks like this single will have trouble to (and probably not even be able to) reach even 100,000 copies sold! Erika's recent behavior may be the reason for these sales, or the fact that people just weren't as interested in this single as they were with her past releases.

well at least this will teach her to watch was she doesn't say and what she does... all i can say that's its nearly all her fault in my opinion... its such a good song though which makes it sad, i wish it wasnt this single but she has to learn that people wont put up with the attitude and if this is the only way well let it be that way... :'(

I believe that it's really stupid for the sales of her music to be affected by her attitude...being rude will not make the quality of her music worse. Sure, they may hate her for being rude and then refuse to buy her music regardless of how good it is or not, but they are just in denial I reckon. Also, they deny themselves the pleasure of listening to fun music

i was really rooting for it to be #1 in the charts so she could have her singles number 1 for three consecutive times. darn.

As I said in an earlier comment this is ridiculous if, in fact, this lack of sales has to do with her so-called behavior.

Truly, it must suck to be a music artist in Japan if any kind of deviation from perfect behavior invites poor record sales & a virtual trial, judgment & guilty verdict from the public & the press.

There are Western artists who are considered to be truly controversial: Madonna, Eminem, Kanye West, Prince, The Dixie Chicks, R. Kelly...the list goes on & on. If Erika said/did even a quarter of the stuff that those artists have, I am sure she would have to 'disappear' lest she be hunted down & murdered.

As for the rest of the world, controversial artists or not, people still buy the music because ultimately that's what it's all about & SHOULD be all about.
